Monetize your YouTube channel in 2023

In order to monetise your YouTube Channel, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must have at least 1,000 subscribers.

  • You must have accumulated at least 4,000 hours of watch time on your videos within the past 12 months.

  • Your YouTube account must be in good standing.

Once you have met the requirements, you can then set up your YouTube Partner Program account and start to monetise your videos.

If you want to monetise your Youtube Channel you must pay attention to two important analytics: watch time and click-through rate (CTR). In this blog, we will discuss the steps one can take to increase watch time and CTR so that your videos can get more views and engagement tactics to make your viewers watch for longer. At the end of this video, I'll let you know how much I earned in my very first month as a small YouTuber with 3,000 subscribers.

How to get more views on YouTube?

In order to get more views on YouTube you need to make sure you video is as attractive as possible. That means a great thumbnail and title so it sticks out from the croud and people actually click on it. remember the thumbnail, title and seo get you the views and the quality of your video will determine watch time.

When it comes to increasing click-through rate (CTR), there are several strategies you can implement.

  1. focus on creating an attractive and eye-catching thumbnail for each of your videos.

  2. use keywords that accurately describe the content of your video in the title and description.

  3. use end screens and annotations to promote other related videos and encourage viewers to click through to them.

By following these steps, you can increase the click-through rate of your videos and get more views.

How to increase watch time on YouTube?

When it comes to increasing watch time, there are a few key steps you can take.

  1. make sure that each of your videos is engaging and informative, start delivering value for the audience as soon as possible. remember people dont watch adverts they watch high value content that they can learn from or that entertains them.

  2. you should reassure your audience in the first 8 seconds of your video that they are learning about the subject they were looking for. no click bait.

  3. use broll, cuts and editing to retain the attention of your audience, the average viewer will lose interest after about 8 seconds of unedited or boring video.

  4. Use the analytics tool to study when your viewers clicked-off in previous videos. figure out what was happening in the video that made them click off and dont do that again!

These 4 steps are instant wins for most youtubers. Start implementing these consistently and your watch time will increase over the next few months.

How to get better at making videos?

Every video you publish has the potential to teach you something new, even if it is not as successful as you had hoped. Regardless of the outcome, use the feedback from your audience and analytics to adjust and improve your content for the best results. Make 100 videos and then compare your first to your last. you will be shocked at how much you have improved.

Conclusion

Monetising your youtube channel is all about views and watch time. That means you need to make videos your audience will actually want to watch (not sales picth vidoes for your services) and then present them with great thumbnails and titles so that your videos stick out from the crowd on Youtube.
